Paul Anka was in concert in Beirut in 1999 and he came back in 2009 at the Forum de Beyrouth. He celebrated his 68th birthday on stage on the 30th of July of 2009 with the band and audience singing him a Happy Birthday.
Paul Anka, is a Lebanese/Canadian singer, songwriter, and actor. Anka first became famous as a teen idol in the late 1950s and 1960s with hit songs like "Diana'", "Lonely Boy", and "Put Your Head on My Shoulder".
He went on to write such well-known music as one of Tom Jones's biggest hits, "She's a Lady", and the English lyrics for Frank Sinatra's signature song, "My Way".
Paul Anka has recorded 125 albums to date including over 10 albums in Japanese, German, Spanish, French, and Italian, composing songs culturally tailored to each country.
He has sold close to 15 million albums worldwide.
