Minister Michel Pharaon welcomed everyone who came for the launch of the “Live Achrafieh” festival: “In the name of the MPs of Achrafieh, Rmeil and Saifi and on behalf of the residents of the region, you are welcome to Sassine Square, which is ready to host all those who came to attend the Live Achrafieh festival. Tonight, we will go beyond politics and daily concerns, despite the numerous pending major political issues.”
The festival started in the afternoon with a children’s fair filled with a multicolored folkloric parade, games, face painting, entertainment and endless children’s activities. As the sun went down, Sassine Square turned into a music festival. The Lebanese band “Four Knights” performed tracks inspired by the World Cup, followed by Simon Hadchiti, Melissa, Eliane Mahfouz and Iwan, who performed popular and patriotic songs.
